• DiQuan Forcell is a visual artist whose paintings, drawings, and printmaking pieces are known for their bold and vibrant use of color and striking portraits. Forcell’s unique approach to portraiture challenges the notion that "spectacle" must be grandiose to be revered. Forcell uses his artistic expression to challenge archaic museum and gallery practices. Inspired by the Baroque art period, Forcell employs chiaroscuro to dramatize and characterize portraiture.

Forcell has exhibited his artwork at Good Children Gallery for Prospect 2 (P2), the Ogden Museum of Southern Art's Historically Black College and University (HBCU Art Showcase), Xavier University Art Gallery (The Misinterpretation), The Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans (Untitled (Invisible Identities)), The Antenna Gallery (11:11(New Member Exhibition)), and Good Children Gallery (Les Salon des Bon Enfants)

In 2023 Forcell became a member of the Antenna Collective and served as the head curator for 11:11 (New Member Exhibition). His curatorial endeavors include Untitled (Invisible Identities) at the Contemporary Arts Center as well as serving as a curatorial assistant for Seeing Black: Gestures of Refusal: Black Photography and Visual Culture.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from Xavier University (2015), where he studied under the tutelage of renowned artists Ron Bechet, Martin Payton, and Mapo Kinnord. Forcell currently serves as Coordinator of Patron Services at the Contemporary Arts Center New Orleans where he has worked since 2018.
